In a New York courtroom, a jury of citizens is called upon to decide the fate of a teenager from a working-class neighborhood, accused of murder. Vote after vote, they must find common ground to reach a unanimous verdict. The 15 students are initially dressed as clones of the president, with missing pants, blurring the lines between superman and a baby. The heavy orange face makeup is balanced with subtles traces of bruises on the hands, and blue veins on the legs. The wigs custom-made for each comedians, is inspired by the windswept hairstyles of Trump as he exits plane. Originally inspired by « Oh les beaux jours » from Samuel Beckett, this techno oratorio is composed by Rebeka Warrior (Sexy Sushi, Mansfield. TYA, Kompromat…) where each role is interpreted and sung by Marlène Saldana. The setup is a modular recreation of the infamous volcano from Stardust Casino, imagined by Sophie Perez & operated on stage by Jonathan Drillet playing Marlène’s stage manager. The costumes, makeup & wigs are created by Jean-Biche : the wardrobe is freely inspired by iconic showgirls outfits such as Bob Mackie, Mine Vergès or Yves Saint Laurent. My passion for connecting disciplines comes from my early career in Brussels. After earning my bachelor's degree in Drawing & Fashion Design from La Cambre, I started illustrating for The New York Times while DJ-ing in the underground scene. Since then, I’ve always worked in various creative fields such as graphic design, performance, art direction, music, fashion design, makeup, and contemporary dance. I’ve collaborated with artists such as Michèle Lamy, Brice Dellsperger, Marlène Saldana, Damien Jalet, Alexis Langlois, and Gurshad Shaheman ; performed at Manko Cabaret, the Slipper Room, BO18, and Crazy Horse ; and developed special projects with brands like Jean Paul Gaultier, Rabanne, Patou, Kenzo, and Marine Serre. Currently, I’m touring with various dance and theater pieces for which I’ve created costumes, hair, and makeup. I also spend a lot of time DJ-ing and performing in cabarets—when I’m not managing my own show, Les Nuits Bas Nylon.
