Ten cats living peacefully sheltered from the outside world, raised by a newly elected president « Mommy », taking stock of the human race : climate change, economics, technologies, politics (…)
Opinions vary and yet we must try to live together.
This varied cast of singular personalities is dancing, acting & singing in the great traditions of 80s Broadway style (Cats, Chorus Line, All That Jazz…) on a huge geometric patterned carpet of primary colors.
And yet the wardrobe has been conceived in a very minimal, child-like manner : each cat is a precise character, having its own color & playful gimmick (ears, collars, wigs, moustache, tails & paws).
Between sportswear, light cosplay, japanese fabrics & bdsm accessories, the cats feature a full variety of looks to crawl, play with, fight or just parade around in.

A creation by Marlène Saldana & Jonathan Drillet music Rebeka Warrior sound Guillaume Olmeta light Fabrice Ollivier costume, makeup & hair Jean-Biche setup Sophie Perez sculpture Daniel Mestanza assistant Robin Causse stage management François Aubry sound mixing Krikor choreography consulting Mai Ishiwata nails Tina Scott from Neonglazenails production Chloé Perol / Manon Crochemore
Inspired by Paul Verhoeven’s movie « Showgirls » released in 1995, Marlène Saldana & Jonathan Drillet look back at Nomi Malone’s story, a Vegas showgirl struggling to succeed in a promiscuous world, combined with the story of its actress Elizabeth Berkley, whose career got crushed after this film.
Originally inspired by « Oh les beaux jours » from Samuel Beckett, this techno oratorio is composed by Rebeka Warrior (Sexy Sushi, Mansfield. TYA, Kompromat…) where each role is interpreted and sung by Marlène Saldana.
The setup is a modular recreation of the infamous volcano from Stardust Casino, imagined by Sophie Perez & operated on stage by Jonathan Drillet playing Marlène’s stage manager.
The costumes, makeup & wigs are created by Jean-Biche : the wardrobe is freely inspired by iconic showgirls outfits such as Bob Mackie, Mine Vergès or Yves Saint Laurent. Once revamped in the tacky style of the play, the assumed copies are happily & tastefully borderline, comforting the characters in their excessive natures.
